“It is Written” and “Have You Not Read”

Mark 1:2 As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, “See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way;

Luke 4:10 for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’

Luke 4:17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:

Luke 10:26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?”

Luke 18:31 Then he took the twelve aside and said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished.

Luke 20:17 But he looked at them and said, “What then does this text mean: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?

Luke 21:22 for these are days of vengeance, as a fulfillment of all that is written.

Luke 22:37 For I tell you, this scripture must be fulfilled in me, ‘And he was counted among the lawless’; and indeed what is written about me is being fulfilled.”

Luke 24:44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.”

John 1:45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.”

John 2:17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

John 5:46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.

John 6:31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.

John 10:34 Jesus answered, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?

John 12:14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written:

John 12:16 His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written of him and had been done to him.

John 15:25 It was to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’

Acts 13:29 When they had carried out everything that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.

Acts 15:15  This agrees with the words of the prophets, as it is written,

Matthew 21:16 and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise for yourself’?”

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is amazing in our eyes’?

Matthew 22:31 And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God,
